Congratulations on being Pre-1700 certified! Now it's time to pick a project that best fits the pre-1700 profiles you'll be working on.
Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Do you have some historically-significant ancestors? Look at the list of active projects to see if one fits your needs.
Once you find a project that interests you, visit the project page for more information and to find out how to join. You can also use the Following link to add the project tag to your profile, to be kept up to date on project activity.

How are you? I'm Shirley, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.
How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.
If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info. Do you have Royal Ancestors? Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.
And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Thank you for the personal email. We are all volunteers. Volunteering in this instance means that we are helping to build the tree. There is no time requirement, we work when we can. Some only contribute a few profiles at a time, while others import large gedcoms to add to the tree.
There are lots of opportunities for those who have "extra" time, such as the Greeters, Rangers and Arborists to name a few.
Don't feel that you are under pressure, relax, enjoy the experience, and when you are ready to try something extra, we will be happy to have you.
Don't hesitate to ask questions.

I am excited about this group. Genealogy is one of my passions, whereas I have been working on my family history off and on for many years and look forward to discovering and learning more as well contributing to the group as time permits.
At this time, I work full-time during the day and attend school part-time in the evening, limiting my availability - however, I look forward to participating and contributing what I can, when I can.
