NOTE: Different person than Jacob Ebersole (1760-1828), born and died in Lancaster, PA.

POB "Switzerland" per Family Search and cemetery memorial, "Germany" per Ebersol (1937 p 208).

Jacob evidently came to America age 6 y.o., arriving 1 Nov 1763 Philadelphia aboard Chance, with his father, mother and several siblings (Strassburger 1934, vol 1 pp 685-687; Ebersol, pp 8, 171).

Married Mary Ann Garber, twelve children per Family Search, some may be spurious; seven children ID'ed by Ebersol (p 208) but omits dau Sarah Elizabeth Ebersole (1789–1855) who m Jacob Zug Frantz (1784–1851).

Jacob "was in 7th Battalion, Lancaster Co . Militia in the 8th Pa. reg. .... He fought in the Battle of Brandywine , Sept .11, 1777. ... After the war he left Lancaster Co., Pa., and settled in Botetourt Co., Va. Not in sympathy with slavery, he moved to a farm near North Hampton, Clark Co., Ohio , 1810" (ibid).

Burial: Myers Cemetery, North Hampton, Clark County, Ohio, USA. Memorial ID 17478554.
