Cari - Many thanks for noticing the duplicate profiles for William Rice! I have just reached his generation on my family tree and was able to add his second wife and daughter. Because of your observation, the two profiles for William had already been merged, making my updates a lot easier! Enjoy the Holidays! Best Regards, Wendy

Hi Cari -thank you for being a member of the Jewish Roots Project! I wanted to let you know about some new things we have going on.

- You can see new tabs at the top of our home page, where you can select topics to view or work on. You can also use our new maintenance categories - feel free to add them to your own family, or any other Jewish Roots profile, or work on the maintenance yourself, such as adding new records to profiles with only a couple sources.

-I'm sending an invitation to join GoogleGroups, which we are re-starting this week. We'll probably do most group chat there, but the most important things will be posted on G2G, which you will be notified about if you follow the jewish_roots tag.

-You can also join Wikitree's discord server, where we have a Jewish Roots chat channel.

-If you have ideas or suggestions for the project, feel free to reply here or send me a message.

Thank you! -Elaine, co-leader for Jewish Roots Project

I noticed that you're working on pre-1700-era profiles. This is just a reminder that certifying to work on these types of profiles means that you agree to add valid sources as outlined in the Pre-1700 Certification Quiz. Trees and profiles from sites such as FamilySearch and Ancestry are not acceptable sources for Pre-1700 profiles. Here is a link to the Germany Project's sourcing guidelines.

Please review the Pre-1700 Quiz guidelines, and if you have questions please ask.

If you need help with this, our G2G Forum is a great place to start. You can get there by clicking the link on the Help menu.

Thank you, John. I just haven't had a chance to add the sources. I can/will certainly stop entering the profiles, but then I won't have the reminder to myself to enter them with the sources ...

Cari - thank you for merging the two Robert McBride profiles four years ago. He was my great grandfather, and I am now finally getting photos and narrative added to his profile. I'm glad I didn't try to develop his profile earlier because I knew too little about him back then. Wishing you a fabulous 2022, with best regards, William Ross III

Hi Cari,

Thank you for the Garner and Nettles suggestions. Elizabeth Olivia Garner Nettles' headstone has incorrect information on it. I had used the incorrect information. She died on Sunday July 25, 1909 at the home of her son John James Nettles in Alcolu, Clarendon County, South Carolina. The notice was in the Manning Times on Wednesday July 28, 1909. I think the headstone at Mount Hope Cemetery near Greeleyville, SC was installed many years later. I hope you are well. Charlie Smith

Hi Cari,

Thanks for the suggestion to merge the two Neely profiles. The suggestion is correct, they are both my father. Further, all the information contained the biography section of Neely-1093 is accurate, including birth and death dates/locations and full middle name "Munro." Also, he had a PhD degree from the University of California, so the prefix of "Dr." on Neely-1716 is appropriate. Thanks for your careful attention. I recall that Peter (and thus I) are only on the far periphery of your own genealogical interests! Sincerely, Hugh Munro Neely

Hi Cari,

When creating a profile for a person born in the Netherlands could you please not assign a middle name? Dutch do not know the concept of middle name. Multiple given names are quite common, and they should all go into the proper first name field, ignoring the warning message by doing "Save anyway". Failing that such a profile get suggestion "749 Middle Name used in Netherlands". Currently 15 of your profiles have that suggestion, which I will fix.

Kind Regards, Jan
