When George Mohler Ecenrode was born on November 13, 1913, in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, his father, Harvey, was 23 and his mother, Amanda, was 25. He had five brothers and one sister. He died on May 22, 1996, in Highspire, Pennsylvania, at the age of 82, and was buried in Glen Burnie, Maryland.
