Biography

1) Morgan Louis Eckert ... [1] 2) Morgan was born in Ulster, Ulster New York. He was married to Maria Quick in New York and Moved 1st to Paris Township, Howard County Iowa where he had a farm. He sold Part of this farm to Lemuel Buley and moved to Winnesheik Ia. Morgan was in Military Residence in London, Freeborn County, Minnesota in 1856. He also Homesteaded land in Freeborn County, Minnesota. Brother Cornelius and his children are also shown in Freeborn County Minnesota. This Eckert family came a long way from the Palatinate to Rhinebeck Flats and Kingston New York area, Through Iowa to Minnesota and the Dakotas.

A Significant fact occurs during this period with the interaction of the Rose family with the Eckert Family. The Rose family had relocated to Lime Springs, Iowa. Located approx 5 miles north of Paris Township. Electa Jane Rose Died 1868 and is buried in Rural Etna Cemetary in Filmore County, Minnesota.

Morgan and Maria had 7 or 8 children and apparently were instrumental in Moving many of the Eckert Family members from New York to Iowa and Minnesota.

Morgans First wife Mary Quick died in 1867 and he remarried to Celynda Webster in 1867. He died in 1871. Do you have information about Eckert? Please contribute to his biography. Everything on WikiTree is a collaborative work-in-progress.
