Biography

George was born in 1889. He was the son of Richard Eckley and Annie Smith. His middle name Greatrex was carried on from his father's line - George's paternal grandmother was Emma Greatrex Andrews, and her mother (George's great grandmother) was Ann Greatrex.

He passed away in 1894 when he was 5 years old.

His death notice was brief:

ECKLEY. -On January 6, at Morningside, George Greatrex, beloved son of Richard and Annie Eckley: aged 5 years. Interment private.
