Enjoys amateur genealogy and has lived most of her life in a town that was settled in 1762 by many of her ancestors.

Had an opportunity to spend 3 years in a small town just outside of London and learned later that she had driven through of her ancestral home towns.

Happy to be a part of an online community devoted to accuracy in creating family trees...see you in the "branches"!

And special thanks to my dad for passing on The Eddy Family in America to me along with my love of genealogy. I've been able to help a few WikiTree members connect the dots in their Eddy family trees because of it!

Hi cousin, I found you on a GEDmatch group distant cousins. We probably share a Quaker line set of grand parents together. Hamilton-23245. QG9415421.

I love getting to know new cousins. We come from Jane Eddy's line, she came to Canada with her brothers. In Gatineau Quebec, many of the streets are named after the family.

Good morning, On the Reuben Coombs business. On DNA, I wanted to be sure you had all my relatives descending from Reuben. these are: A524523, A701534, A719363, A852340, A700298, A666557. Of course as you know, at this distance, no match does not disprove a link. I agree with you that there seems to be no paper trail, but the geography and naming convention -- Reuben having a son Anthony, is quite suggesting. I guess I think the case is open, which I think you would agree with. BTW, do you know about the Clayes link and its credibility? Cheers, Dave

Ginni,

We are cousins through a completely different family then the Coombs (which I know is on your husband's side).

We are both on the DNA match list for https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Starbuck-168. How cool!

We are 7th cousins once removed through the Starbuck family.

Ginni,

Help me! I don't see a child named Reuben. What am I missing?  :)

EDIT: Nevermind, I see he is a son on Anthony Coombs II. Are you saying that Anthony Coombs II is not a son of Anthony and Dorcas?

We have multiple sources for Anthony - not just the Bowdin records. We also have Vital Records of Gloucester Massachusetts to the End of the Year 1849, Vol. II Marriages, The Essex Institute, Salem, MA, 1914 for his marriage in Gloucester. Obviously he is there son, right?

FURTHER EDIT: I see it finally sorry for being dense! Reuben is the son of Anthony and Mercy.

I don't want to leave too many message on your profile so forgive the editing of this one. His profile https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Coombs-537 is very poorly sourced. Let me see what I can find and I will weigh in to ask for a source for the birth. We can then ask to them source or disconnect,

Hi!

I am not suggesting that we remove ANY of Anthony Coombs' children. They would remain named "Coombs" in my opinion. The only change would be that he would have the LNAB of Comeau and "additional last name" of "Coombs and the correct parents. Nothing else in his profile would be changed. All of the children and remaining records would still be there.

Hi V,

Thanks for your comment on my proposed merge of Anthony Coombs and Antoine Comeau. I am not sure that I agree that ONE dna test would be a preponderance of the evidence to reject the research that was presented. I appreciate your thoughts and response but I respectfully disagree with your assessment.

I will ask an "Arborist" to weigh in on this. Duplicate profiles on wikitree that represent the same person should be merged. Obviously, we disagree on the "same person" part of the statement.

No hard feelings, I respectfully disagree with your rejection of this proposed merge.
