Jane Edgar was born about 1888 to Samuel Edgar and Agnes Jane Gunning.

The parent's names on her death record are Samuel Edgar and Agnes Gunning, so these names appear to be correct; they had five known children; Jane the eldest.

Shipping record reveals her mother Agnes with daughter Jane arrived Brisbane on 24 May 1889, on the ship "Taroba" There was no father's name on that shipping Index.

One named Samuel Edgar arrived in Brisbane, age 24 years on 14 December 1887 and that could be her father; Samuel Edgar; arriving in Brisbane about sixteen months prior his wife and child. However, there is no confirmation of this detail.

In an effort of proving Jane's father Samuel, we have found; he; and Agnes died in Queensland; Samuel on 13 February 1908 and Agnes, August 1925; they are buried together at Toowong cemetery, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

The father, Samuel Edgar is close to confirmed, the correct shipping for him would help. He appears as the father of Jane's siblings; but is it the correct Samuel?
