Thomas Edgar was born in Ireland.

Thomas Edgar was born about 1840 in County Down, Ireland. He was the son of Thomas Edgar and Mary Bassett.
In 1876, Thomas, a 36-year-old farmer from Dunnanelly, married 21-year-old Margaret Ann McAllister from Rann (Road) in the townland of Annacloy, also in the parish of Inch. They were married in the parish church of Inch in Downpatrick, County Down. [1] Thomas and Margaret Ann would have nine children. (On the 1911 Ireland Census, Margaret indicates that all nine were still living.)
He was living in Dunanelly, Downpatrick when his father died in 1880. His father left him the interest in the farm leased from John Mulholland Esquire.
In the 1901 Ireland Census, Thomas, age 59, was living with his wife and children in Dunnanelly townland in the Parish of Inch. He was working as a farmer. [2]

Thomas died in 1919 from chronic rheumatoid arthritis and cardiac failure. He died at Annacloy townland in the parish of Inch. His son William Edgar of Annacloy was present at death and was the informant on the death record. [4]
