Bio: The Mt. Pleasant News, June 15, 1951, page 3; Mount Pleasant, Henry County, Iowa:Services for Mrs. James Prickett will be held at the residence east of Mt. Pleasan t Saturday afternoon (June 16, 1951) at 1:30. Burial will be at Forest Home cemetery. The Mt. Pleasant News, June 19, 1951; Mount Pleasant, Henry County, Iowa:Service Held For Mrs. Jas. Prickett. Lois Miriam, only child of Emma Hoopert and Joe W. Edgar, was born November 17, 1891, and died June 13, 1951, at the age of 59 years and 8 months.She was born on the farm where she had spent her entire life. She was married to James Prickett, September 11, 1918. No children were born to this union which was a great disappointment to both for they loved children. She was a member of Beulah Methodist Church and was active in church work -- serving as president of Ladies Aid -- Gospel Team Work and Sunday School teacher -- serving faithfully until her health failed. Her devotion to her aging parents endeared her to all. She will be sadly missed by husband, parents, other relatives, and her many friends. The funeral was held at the home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon June 16. Reverend Sydney E. Sterrett, pastor of the Mt. Pleasant circuit, officiated. The pallbearers were Cecil McGohan, J. J. Fitzpatrick, Robert Manlove, Clare Edgar, Milo McCabe and Walter Beattie. She is survived by her husband, James Pricket, and parents, Joseph Edgar and Emma Edgar, several nieces, nephews and a number of cousins.
