Biography

Ellen was born in 1882 at 57 Langton Road, Kennington. She is the daughter of Charles Edge and Mary Stent.

Ellen Jane was baptised on 6 December 1882 at St John the Divine, Kennington.

She went into service for Ernest Grace and his family at Bournemouth, Hampshire.

Ellen boarded at Courtnall Street in Paddington, Westminster and was later joined by her sister Rosa. They remained in Paddington between 1930 and 1938. 1

In the late 1930's 2 Ellen was still employed as a Domestic Servant. She moved and settled in Buckinghamshire rooming with 2 other women, Margery Sweet and Evelyn Hood. Ellen was recorded in the 1939 Electoral Register as single and in Domestic Service. She would have been 57 years old.
