Note

Hiel Hollister. Pawlet for One Hundred Years, J. Munsell: Albany [NY], 1867.
p. 21: List of revolutionary soldiers with death year and age at death.
p. 36: Gives his name as captain of an infantry unit. The section ("LOCAL MILITIA," beginning p. 34) states that Pawlet was among the most active towns in CT in organizing military forces. Also states (p. 36) that the infantry unit, of which Jebediah was one of the captains, was the oldest of these units.
p. 139: 4 Jul 1793, he subscribed to the support of Rev. John Grisworld as pastor of the First Congregational Church in Pawlet.
pp. 184-5: in 1803 removed to Moriah, N.Y., none of family settled in Pawlet, married #2 widow of Enos Clark of Middletown, lived there until her death. In old age, moved to live with son Dr. Joshua Edgerton, in western New York (no more specific location given). Died 1848, aged 86.
Note: Age at death would make his birth date incorrect.

DNA

Paternal or maternal relationship is confirmed by autosomal DNA. NOTE: We do not know from results thus far whether the shared dna comes from the mother or father, so we do not mark either parental relationship "confirmed with dna" at this time.
Erin Cole, Larry Evans and his daughter Lori (Evans) Larsen along with a child of Adra Calkins form a triangulated group sharing an aDNA segment (27.7 cM, 3,414 SNPs). Their most recent common ancestors are Simeon Edgerton and Abiah Hough. Randi Oleson, Beverly (Guinther) Terry and Andrew Edgerton do not appear to share this segment of dna. However, there are nine other kits on GEDmatch sharing this segment but whose connection to Simeon and Abiah Edgerton is unknown.
