Emmeline (1770-1848) (AKA Em) married September 27th, 1802, Dr John King. Christina Colvin states
“I think she was less clever than Anna, rather a good-natured commonplace person, contented with her husband and children. She married Dr King (Konig) a clever Swiss Dr – who established himself successfully at Clifton, and was most kind as well as skilful, in treatment of many sick sister in laws notably of Lucy, who always retained warm admiration and affection for him.”
They had two daughters, and two sons who both died young (“A clever boy named Edgeworth”) and Albert. The eldest daughter Zoe did not marry, she was one of few family members who was particularly friends with Anna’s eldest son the poet Tom. The youngest daughter was called Psyche Emmaline.
“Zoe and Psyche were named by Dr King - luckily Emmeline was the name by which the later was known, for she was very large and stout and fair and slow moving, while Zoe was (more suited to her name) was very small and dark, quick-witted and quick tempered”
