Biography
James Edmiston was born in 1828 in Paisley, Scotland.
James came to New Zealand on the ship Gananoque into Auckland on 19 Oct 1861. Ships passenger list shows James Edmiston, wife and children (James, Catherine, Henry and Jessie). They had further children (six daughters) in New Zealand from 1861 to 1870.
He passed away in 1912 at his residence Ibrox Wood and Russell Streets, Ponsonby and is buried in the Purewa Cemetery, Meadowbank, Auckland, New Zealand with his wife [1].
