Biography

William Edmondson was born in Yorkshire, England.

William Edmondson was born on 5 December 1856 in Damems, Keighley, Yorkshire, England. ^[1] He was the son of James Edmondson and Alice Smith.

He was living with his parents and siblings in Damens, near Keighley in 1861, ^[2] and in Cross Roads, near Bingley in 1871, where age 14 he was working as a Spinner.^[3]

William's marriage to Elizabeth chaplin was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1880 in the Keighley district.^[4]

They remained living in Haworth, and had six children between 1882 and 1897. William started his working life as a Spinner, and then a Clerk in the Mill, ^[5] and then by 1891 he was a Letter Press Printer, with his own business in Haworth. ^{[6] [7] [8] [9]}

Elizabeth died in 1932, and In the 1939 register William 82, Letterpress Printer, was the widowed head of household at 37 Mill Hey, Keighley. ^[10]

William died on 29 April 1941 age 84,^[11] and was buried in Haworth Cemetery. ^{[12] [13]}
