My love of history, and my strong sense of family made genealogy a natural interest for me.
I was born in Manhattan, New York. My parents were living on Long Island at the time, but we soon moved to the Hudson Valley, in first Beacon, then Cold Spring NY.
In 1979, we moved to Richmond VA, and as an adolescent that was quite a change for me. I finished high school, and went to Virginia Commonwealth University, where I received a BA in History.
During my time in college, I started working in the film industry, as first an actor, then on film crews in various positions. I'm also a screenwriter with several finished scripts.

We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.
Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please don’t assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.
Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.
Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
