1 Apr 1892 (aged 81) Cedar County, Iowa, buried at South Bethel Cemetery, Tipton, Cedar County, Iowa.
Bio: Rev. Wm. Edwards died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Hardman, in Rochester township, Cedar County, Iowa, April 11, 1892. He was married to Susanna Gongwer, Feb. 14, 1839. The union was blest with twelve children. One son and two daughters died in infancy. Two daughters and seven sons are living. Mr. Edwards came to Iowa in 1850; settling in Cedar County where most of his Iowa life was spent He was well and favorably known in this community. He became a minister and did a number of years of acceptable service . In the last three weeks he suffered much. Was cheerful and hopeful, and spoke gladly of the change he felt to be so near. He said to the writer a few days before his death: "It is a serious thing to die. I have endeavored to be ready, and through the grace of God, I have nothing to fear in making the change"
