In 1891 he was living with his mother, siblings and maternal uncles in Tottenham. In 1901 Walter lived in Nightinglae Rd, Wood Green, Middlesex with his mother, siblings and uncles and was a butcher's assistant. In 1911 Walter was single, a butcher's assistant and living with his mother, uncle and cousin in Hornsey, rouch End, Middlesex. When his sister, Ethel, died in South Africa in 1940 he was living at The Bungalow, Steppingley, Bedfordshire.
