Harvey Milton Edwards was born November 27, 1851, the second son of James Daniel and Lydia Rineer Edwards, who were likely Mennonites.[1] In 1860, he was living with his parents in Sadsbury, Pennsylvania.[2] In 1870, it appears he was living with Elias and Fannie Mowrer in Strasburg, PA, likely serving as a hired hand.[3]
Harvey married Mary Emelia Hankins prior to the 1880 Census. His FamilySearch profile states without source that the wedding date was August 24, 1879. If the date is correct, their first child was born scarcely nine months later.
In 1880, Harvey, Mary, and their infant daughter Magdalena May were living in Providence, PA. Harvey's occupation is listed as cabinetmaker.[4]
In 1900, Harvey, Mary, three of their children, and Mary's sister Lizzie were living in West Lampeter Township, PA.[5]
In 1910, Harvey, Mary, and assorted children and grandchildren were living in East Hempfield, PA.[6]
The family was still living in East Hempfield in 1920.[7]
Harvey passed away on October 18, 1925. He was buried in Landisville.[8]
