Biography

Cader EDWARDS (Captain Cader1) was born in Greenbrier Co., VA 17 Sep 1776, participated in the French & Indian War. Cader came to KY by way of the "Wilderness Route". He stopped for a time at Bryan's Station, after which he located for a time at Newport, (of which he is among the earliest settlers) and in 1798 he came to Barren County, where he resided until his death.

Cader died 25 Feb 1855 in Blue Spring Grove, Barren Co., KY, at 78 years of age. His body was interred Feb 1855 in Blue Spring Grove, Barren Co., KY. He married Elizabeth "Betsy" CRAIN in Portsmouth, Scioto Co., OH, 28 Jun 1799. Elizabeth was born in OH circa 1784. Elizabeth died before 1855.
