In 1903 and 1913 Matilda and Frederick, miner, lived in Bluff Rd, Charters Towers.[4]
In 1925 Matlida and Frederick Charles, labourer, lived in Gregory st, Bowen.[5] [Is Myrtle Crew, State Coalmine home duties Bowen also a family member?]
Matilda died in 1941 in Clermont.[6]
MRS. MATILDA CREW The death occurred at the residence of her son-in-law in Elderslie Street on Thursday last of Mrs. Matilda Crew, aged 85 years. Deceased was a native of the Old Country, born at Falmouth, County Cornwall in the south of England. As Miss Matilda Edwards, after emigrating to Australia, she married Mr F. C. Crew in Victoria, and they then came to Charters Towers, making their home there during the period of the '91 strike. Mrs. Crew visited Winton in 1918 for a short period-thence going to Bowen, Rockhampton and then to Brisbane. Her husband predeceased her in Brisbane in 1926. For the last three years Mrs. Crew has been residing with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs A. H. Medcraf, Winton. She is survived by two daughters and one son, Mrs. A. H. Medcraf (Winton), Mrs. J. Dunne (Melbourne) and Mr. A. P. J. Crew (Clermont). The last rites were performed by the Rev. R. Peel, the funeral leaving the Methodist Church at 4 p.m. on Friday. MRS.
