In 1871, William was living with his parents, Charles (b1829, Salop) and Hannah (b1841, Warwick) Edwards and 6 siblings, Mary Ann (b1861, Salop), Thomas (b1862, Marpol, Ches), Martha Ellen (b1864, Stockport), Joseph (b1865, Stockport), Rosannah (b1869, Lebury, Hereford) and James Harvey (b1871, Ledbury, Hereford).

Westbury u S 1881, Moorwood, East Dean. In 1881, William was again living with his parents, Charles and Hannah Edwards and 7 siblings, Joseph, Rosannah, James H J, Ruth (b1872, Cinderford, Glos), George (b1877, Moorwood, Glos), Jane (b1878, Moorwood) and John (b1880, Moorwood.

When William was about 24 he married Emily Taylor on 22 January 1891 in All Saints Ch, Hindley, Lancs, England. The Marriage record shows that on 22 Jan 1891 at All Saints Ch, Hindley, William Charles Edwards, a 23 yo Collier and Bachelor of Kerfoot Row married Emily Taylor, a 22 yo Weaver and Spinster of Ladies Lane. The Groom's Father, Charles Edwards was a Farmer and the Bride's Father, Henry Taylor was deceased. The Witnesses were Alfred and Eunice Taylor. ^[1]
