There has been updated research on this family. It has been found that the children's mother is Jane Edwards. Her name is found on the Arkansas death record of son Elisha Parker
McDowell County was first formed in 1842 from parts of Burke County and Rutherford County. It was named for Joseph McDowell, a Revolutionary War leader and hero of the Battle of King's Mountain. He was elected and served one term as a member of the United States House of Representatives, from 1797 to 1799.
In the 1870 census she is taking care of her grandson,Paschal Hamlin , now an orphan, son of Paschal Hamlin Mary Parker. We have not found her burial place , but in the 1880 census she is 70 years old and living with her youngest son John Parker and his family in Lick Mountain, Conway , Arkansas. It is doubtful she remarried and most likely died in Conway County, Arkansas about 3 JAN 1886 at which time her son Elijah Parker pension was discontinued.
