Biography

George Richard Edwards was born on 16th April 1807 in Portsea, Hampshire, England to John Edwards (Edwards-31573) and Ann (Thacker-2149). George was baptised on 29th April 1813 at Saint John Church, Portsea, Hampshire, England. On July 19th 1831, George married Mary Ann Colbourne (Colbourne-134) at Saint Marys, Portsea, Hampshire, England. She died in July 1832. He married Mary Ann Ind (Ind-8) in 1839. They emigrated to South Australia on board 'RAJSATHAN' in 1840 and together they had 8 children. George's occupations were carpenter and Farmer. He resided in Woodville & Murray Bridge, South Australia. On 17th November 1858, near the River Murray at Wellington, he passed away aged 51 years. He is buried at the Murray Bridge Town cemetery.
