- Winifred was born on 17 August 1916. She is the daughter of James Edwards and Maria Slaughter. [1][2] Aunt's Annie Helena (Slaughter) Petrie and Leonora Elizabeth (Slaughter) Hingeston was there to witness her christening, as well as Frank David Sharples.[2]
