Benjamin F Edwards was born in Madison county, New York 12 Jul 1823 to Peter Edwards and Mary B Anderson.

Early Life

Benjamin F Edwards left NY 1 Aug 1847 and arrived in Springfield 1 Sep 1847. That same year he obtained land in DeWitt County. The land in Buffalo Hart was acquired from William R Constant whose grandfather John Constant originally obtained.

Family

Benjamin F Edwards married Mary C Cass 31 Mar 1858 in Sangamon County.[1]

Mary C Cass Edwards died 20 Apr 1881. 6 children were born to the couple. Benjamin F Edwards lives on Sec 27 in Buffalo Hart Township.

On 3 Jun 1870, Benjamin T Bice, Ass't Marshal, for Buffalo Hart Township, Sangamon County, Illinois, reports Benjamin F Edwards Sr in between W H Clinkenbeard and L A Lanham households.[2]
