Biography

Samuel was born in 1734. He passed away before October 1793.

p. 35 – Samuel Eells, b. February 16, 1735; son of Samuel Eells and Hannah Witherall p. 64 – Samuel Eells mar. Priscilla Palmer of Hanover. She d. November 27, 1763. He was active in the Revolution and served at the siege of Boston. Later he was one of those who guarded the seacoast temporarily when there was danger of being attacked by water after the Battle of Lexington in the fall of 1775.

Know all men By these presents that we Samuel Eells & Bezaliel Eells both of Hanover in the County of Plymouth yeomen the only Heirs of Samuel Eells Late of Said Hanover Deceased, for and in Consideration of the Sum of Ninety five pounds to us in hand paid by Robert Lenthal Eells of Hanover in the County aforesaid Gentleman the Receipt whereof we do hereby Acknowledge and our Selves there with Contented and paid do give grant Bargain Sell Convey and Confirm to him the Said Robert Lenthal Eells his heirs and Assigns forever, Two pieces of land lying in Hanover in the County aforesaid on the road Leading to Josselyns Forge (So Called) containing about Two Acres and a half of Land be the same more or Less Being the Land our Honoured Father Samuel Eells Deceased purchased of His Mother Hannah Eells Widow Deceased with the Building thereon. To have and to hold the Above granted and Bargained premises with the privilege and Appurtenances thereto belonging to him the Said Robert Lenthal Eells his heirs and assigns forever hereby Covenanting to and with the Said Robert Lenthal Eells that we are the Lawfull owners and Seized in our own right of the abovementioned premises and that we will Warrant Secure and Defend the Same Against the Lawfull Claims of any Person or Persons Whatsoever. In Witness whereof I the Said Samuel Eells & Lydia Eells Wife of the Said Samuel Eells and Bezaliel Eells have here unto Set our hands and Seals this twenty Third Day of October in the year of our Lord, Seventeen Hundred and Ninety- three
