Ellen was born in 1873. She is the daughter of Anthony Eggleton and Mary Allaway. [1]
At the age of 2 1/2 months she emigrated from England to New Zealand with her parents and brother James as Assisted Immigrants. They travelled on the ship Rangitiki, departing England on 7 September 1876. They arrived into Canterbury on about 11 December 1876. Her father's occupation was recorded as Bricklayer.[2]
She passed away in 1938 at the age of 64, unmarried.
