Alice Elizabeth Egington was born Bet. 1584 - 1609 in England, and died Bet. 1633 - 1698, in Rehoboth, Bristol County, Massachusetts, a town where she and her husband Edward Bennett were founding settlers. She was the mother of many known children, possibly as many as ten.
Elizabeth Egington and Edward Bennett were married October 27, 1622, in Sedgley, Staffordshire, England  They had four children in England before sailing on the ship "James" from Weymouth, Malcombe-Regis Dorset, England to Weymouth Massachusetts in 1636. There, Edward took up as he was entitled to thirty-six acres of public land. He was made a freeman in 1636.
After a residence there for seven years, Edward became an original proprietor in the company that founded Rehoboth, to which place he removed in 1643 with a certain Rev. Newman. Edward died at Rehoboth in 1645, an original "proprietorwealthy," and was buried in Proprietor's cemetery.

John Bennett, born 1630, in Wiltshire or Dorset, England, died October 22, 1691, in Stonington, New London, Connecticut, married Ursula White of Stonington and had ten children
Priscilla Bennett, born 1632, in Weymouth, Dorset, England, married William Carpenter, on October 5, 1651, died in childbirth, October 20, 1663, the day their son Benjamin was born.

Edward died prior to February 18, 1646. Samuel was 18 and John was 16, and old enough to run their father's farm. But, the farm came into the possession of Richard Bowen, Jr. whose name appears instead of hers in an allotment list drawn up in 1658.

I believe this listing of AE Eginton Bennett more closely aligns itself to the dates of her children I list on my data page. The problem with information this old is that it is subject to a lot of minor revisions to fit a particular persons need. It's a tough issue. At this point only God knows the truth.
