Johann Jacob Ehrlich was born 7 Mar 1870 in Grimm, Volga, Russia to Christian Ehrlich. He was confirmed in 1885. He married Emilie Stahle on 27 Mar 1895 and they had six children together.[1][2]
He came with his father, wife, and his family to America departing from Liverpool, England on 10 Dec 1907 via S.S. Saxonia arriving on 19 Dec 1907 to Boston, Massachusetts. They were bound to Christian Ehrlich's son-in-law Henry Stahle of Augres (Au Gres), Michigan. First page of manifest lists final destination as Michigan City, Indiana.[3]
