Icky, as family called him, was born in San Antonio, Texas, USA and then moved with his mother to Denver, Colorado, USA while is father was stationed at Fort Meade, Maryland with the US Army.

In the spring of 1918 through that summer, the Eisenhower's resided in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania while Ike was an Army captain at Camp Colt (Gettysburg). At the intersection of North Washington Street (U.S. 15) and West Water Street.

When Icky and his mother finally moved to Fort Meade, Mamie hired a servant girl who had scarlet fever. In December of 1920, Icky contracted the deadly disease and despite all efforts, he died in January.

Icky was originally buried on January 7, 1921, less than a week after his death, in Fairmont Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. He was moved two more times, and his final resting place is Abilene Kansas, at the The Eisenhower Presidential Center, officially known as the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum. Both Ike and Mamie are buried with him.

After Icky's death, Ike began to send flowers to Mamie on Icky's birthdate, so hence, the fall flowers for a background.X-7424 11:15, 5 December 2013 (EST)
