Biography

The son of Alfred Ekstrom and Anna Persdotter, Alfred was born 12 December 1900 in Washburn, McLean County, North Dakota.[1]

Alfred came to a tragic death April 5th, 1927. He was line man of the Washburn Electric Co., and while in Garrison, doing repair work, high on a pole, he came in contact with a live wire and was severely burned and fell to the ground unconscious, breaking his back. He was hospitalized for eighteen months in Bismarck before death released him. His death was a great blow to his parents and caused a heart ache from which they never fully recovered. He was a fine looking chap, with good morals, high hopes and much ability.
