Assume Winnefred Elder was single at age of 21, when father's Will was written in 1754.

Note: Winnefred's sister, Elizabeth, was referenced by married name in father's Will, but Winnefred was not.

NEED to CONFIRM is any dates from assumed 1st marriage or children conflicts with Winnefred being single in 1754.

Assume Winnefred married twice. (1) Henry Jones and (2) Robert Lenoir.

Assumption is based on:

1) Robert Lenoir (2nd husband) was guardian of Susannah and Henry Jones.

2) Henry Jones Jr. (son) has children Winnie Elder Jones, John Elder Jones.

3) The 1792 will of Robert Lenoir (assumed husband), named wife Winifred.

1) Some genealogies say Robert Lenoir married Winnefred Fisher, daughter of James Fisher.

2) Some genealogies say Robert Lenoir's 1st wife was indeed a daughter of James Fisher, but not Winnefred, and then say Robert Lenoir's 2nd wife was the widow Winnifred Jones (maiden Elder)

… Major Peter Jones, son of Abram Jones, married Mary Wood, daughter of General Abram Wood, once commanded a fort that was located at the falls of Appomattox. His will, dated Jan. 19, 1721, probated Jan. 10, 1726, recorded in Prince County, Va., names 10 children, as follows: Peter, William, Thomas, John, Wood, Abraham, Mary, Ann, Margaret and Martha. He devises 100 acres of land lying on the Great Creek on Nottoway River to his son, Wood Jones, grandfather of Henry Jones [JR], the subject of this sketch. it is not known whom Wood Jones married nor the names of his children, except his son Henry Jones [SR], who married Winnie Elder, by whom he had two children: Susannah and Henry [JR], the subject of this sketch. Henry [SR] died before his son Henry [JR] was born. His [SR's] widow, Winnie Elder Jones, married a second husband, Robert Lenoir, to whom she bore several children. Now we come to Henry Jones [JR], the subject of this sketch. He [JR] was born near the Nottoway River in Dinwiddie County, Va., Feb. 9, 1762. After his [JR's] mother's second marriage his step-father, Robert Lenoir, became his guardian …

The will of Robert Lenoir, dated 30 Oct 1792 and proved 24 Jun 1793, named wife Winifred and children Elizabeth James, Fisher, Winifred Chealy, Thomas, William, Lewis, Ann, Robert Crawley, and John. He also left bequests to grandchildren Francis Fisher Lenoir and John Peterson Lenoir. Robert C. and John were to stay with their mother until of age or married. He loaned to wife Winifred the land and plantation he lived on and other goods, to be sold upon her death. Executors: friend John Wilson, John Pease James, Joseph Chealy and wife Winifred. Witnesses: Jonathan Fisher, Robert Dunkley, John Latimer and George Latimer.
