The Historical Record of the Elder Family. p. 40-41: Jonothan Cessna Hendrickson Elder Jonothan [sic] Cessna Hendrickson Elder, son of Achor and Eliza (Cessna) Elder, born near Centerville, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. He was a Lawyer in Deshler in 1879. He and Henry Coller erected the “Elder” block in Bowling Green in 1889; he was elected councilman in 1882. Was a member of Green Natural Gas Company, organized April 11, 1885; was a member of Board of Education in Center Twp, 1896. Died at his home near Nutwood, Trumbull County, Ohio, and is buried in Hartford Cemetery. Married Sept. 12, 1877 at the home of the bride’s father, two and one-half miles north of Fostoria, Seneca County, TO: Mary Etta Ash, daughter of Emanuel and Elizabeth (Rose) Ash. Born December 26, 1858 near Centerville, Bedford County, Penna. Their issue: 1. Mable Grace b. July 19, 1878 d. August 8, 1918 2. Neil Grover b. Oct 21, 1886 d.
