Biography
Ann (Elder) McElhinney, 41, passed away on 14 September 1849 in Iowa. She was born on 8 June 1808 in Ireland and married Samuel McElhinney in about 1823.
Mrs. McElhinney was survived by: her husband, Samuel, b. 1803; children, Joseph McElhinney, b. 1827; Mary Jane (McElhinney) Robinson, b. 1829; William John McElhinney, b. 1831; Catharine McElhinney, b. 1834; Margaret (McElhinney) Hensleigh, b. 1836; Annie (McElhinney) Armour, b. 1837; Robert Alexander McElhinney, b. 1840; Samuel Elder McElhinney, b. 1842; Martha (McElhinney) Edgar, b. 1844; Nancy McElhinney, b. 1846; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Rebecca McElhinney, 1848-1848.
Ann is buried at the Rice Cemetery, Morning Sun, Louisa, Iowa. The findagrave memorial ID is 19712801.
