Biography
Harriett V Elder daughter of Isiaih Elder and Rosanna Watkins was born on February 24, 1866 in Portland, Maine. At age 4, she was in her parent's home in Westbrook, Cumberland, Maine.[1]
Hattie married James L Dyer on July 30, 1890 in Deering, Aroostook, Maine.[2] They had at least one child.

Harriett (age 34) and James (age 35, lived in Portland, Cumberland, Maine in 1900, where James was City Treasurer assistant. Harriet's mother, Rose Elder-56, lived with them.[4]
They moved to South Orange, Essex, New Jersey by 1910, where James was in the Retail Coal and wood business, and she and her mother were taking care of the home and their daughter, Doris-7.[5]
They returned to Portland, Maine where Her husband James passed away on October 29, 1916, at the age of 51. They had been married 25 years.[6]
Widowed she living in Portland, on Concord St. in 1920, with her mother Rose and daughter Doris now 17. [7]
She died on June 11, 1957 in Portland, Cumberland, Maine and was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery.[8]
