Jacob Eldredge was born on 11 Dec 1790, in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts. He was the son of Ebenezer Eldredge and Sarah "Sally" Small. Jacob was one of 11 children born to Ebenezer and Sarah Eldredge. Jacob had a twin brother, Joseph. One of Jacob's brothers, Eli, died at sea on October 1811.

Jacob married Mercy (Bassett-Chase) in his hometown of Harwich, Massachusetts, United States, on 14 Dec 1811. Jacob and Mercy had twelve children during their years of marriage.

Death and Burial
Jacob passed away on 26 Feb 1870. He was laid to rest at the Evergreen Cemetery, East Harwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, on 28 Feb 1870.
