Biography
George Eldridge was born in 1794 and baptised at St Nicholas, Ash, Kent on 19 Oct 1794. His parents were George Eldridge and Elizabeth.[1]
George married Harriet Gibbs at St Marylebone, London in 1818. [2]
An entry in Pigot's London and Provincial Commercial Directory for 1832-34, has Eldridge George, Staymaker, 16 Leigh Street, Burton Crescent.
In 1841, George was living at Pancras, London with his wife, and children Harriet, Eliza, Mary, Elizabeth, George, Leonard, Isabella and Julia. His occupation was a Stay Maker.[3]
George died in 1849 at St Pancras and was buried on 12 Aug 1849 at St Martin in the Fields, London. According to the burial record, he was of Leigh Street and aged 55.[4]
