Mary Eldridge was born on Sept. 25, 1767, at Groton, Connecticut, to Charles Eldredge (1743-1798) and Rachel Avery.
She married Ebenezer Avery on Feb. 17, 1793 in Groton, Connecticut. They were both 1st and 3rd cousins through two different lineages. They had 6 children:
- Charles Eldredge Avery (1794-1854)
- Henry William Avery (B. 12 Oct 1795)
- Mary Eldridge Avery (B. 1798)
- Sidney Avery (B. 1800)
- Amasa Avery (B. 1801)
- Jared Reid Avery (B. 1804)
