Seems like he's the same guy as Thomas Elford of Mawnan, Cornwall (b. c. 1552 Sheepstor, Devon; living 1620), younger son of John Elford of Sheepstor and Mary Langford. ... If so, then a DOB of 1530ish is too early and dau. Joan would be much younger than hubbie Thos. Snelling.
BTW ... the Elfords moved from Cornwall to Devonshire in the mid-15th century due to the marriage of John Elford and Joan Scudamore. But Thos of Mawnan apparently had property there. His older brother John, was the first husband of Elizabeth Gregory (mother of the explorer Sir Francis Drake), who ... like the Snellings ... was also from Plimpton St Mary, Devon.
