Biography
Washington (age 36, farmer on land valued at $1,300) and Eliza Eliker (35) settled in Neave Township, Darke County, Ohio, before 1860, when the household included their children John Henry (12), Joseph Graham (11), Mary Catherine (9), Simon J. Eliker (8), Sarah Anna "Sadie" (6), James Driver Eliker (4), and George Washington Eliker (2), as well as Catharine Eliker (22).[1]
Before 1870 the family relocated to a property in Butler Township, Darke County, valued at $4,800, where the household encompassed George (age 47, farmer), Eliza (47), John H. (22, farmhand), Joseph G. (21, farmhand), Mary C. (20), Simon (18), Sarah A. (16), James (13), George (11) and Emma E. Eliker (9). [2]
