Biography
George Augustus Eliott was an Admiral in the Royal Navy.
He was born 1799 in Cavers, Roxburgh, Scotland. He was the son of Sir William Eliott, bart. of Stubs Castle, Roxburghshire, and Mary Russell.
- He 1st married Alicia Anne Jeffrey on 6th May 1837.
- He 2nd married Harriott Sophia West (father: Admiral Sir John West) on 22 Dec 1868.
In 1841, George was living in Cockpen, Midlothian, Scotland.[1]
In 1851, George was living in East Budleigh, Devon with his wife, two sons and two servants. [2]
In 1861, George was living on Sussex Place, St Jude, Portsea, Hampshire with his wife, mother in law and two servants.[3]
In 1871, George was living with his wife in St George, Hanover Square.[4]
George died 13 May 1872 in Bath.[5]
May 13th. - At Bath, Admiral G. A. Eliott, son of Sir William Eliott, sixth Baronet, of Stobs, in the County of Roxburgh.[6]
