(Lillian) Roberta Elkins was born at Stockham, Nebraska and passed away at Grand Island, Nebraska following surgery. She had heart complications, and a newspaper article indicated that she had hiccups for seven days, nine days before she passed away.

Roberta had an operation to remove her gall bladder and relief of adhesions. Three years prior she had hiccups for 3 days. She graduated from Aurora High School in 1925 and attended Nebraska Wesleyan University for 2 years. She entered Bryan Memorial Hospital for Nurse's Training in 1929, and was becoming proficient as a nurse when she passed away.

Roberta is descendent of Mayflower Passenger Richard Warren.
