MR. JOHN H. ELLEM
CASINO, Tuesday. - Mr. John Hilton Ellem, of Wyan, whose death took place in Casino Memorial Hospital, following injuries sustained in a motor accident on the Casino-Grafton Road. was buried in Wyan cemetery. The funeral was one of the largest seen at Wyan. Mr. Ellem was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Ellem and was born at Sandy Creek 52 years ago, later moving to Wyan. He married Miss Helena Lollback, who survives him. He was on the staff of Copmanhurst Shire Council for a number of years and was held in high regard by the council, and by all members of the community in which he lived. Rev. R. A. Meyer conducted the services and spoke in appreciative terms of the sterling worth of Mr. Ellem, who had associated himself with all movements for the welfare of the district in which he lived. He was a Church Warden and member of the Parochial Council at Wyan. Surviving brothers are Lester and Roy (Banyabba), Percy (Lismore), and Reuben (Orange)- Funeral arrangements were in the hands of Trevor D. Bevan.
