Poem sent by Josie B. Eller (David Eller's sister) to Frances Eller (David's wife) postmarked 24 April

Gone Home

Our Father has called her
The dear little pet
Our sweet little baby
We canot for get

Yes Sarah has left us
The dear little one
Sweet little baby
With the angles has gone

Gone sweet darling baby
Gone far away
Then we our loving baby
In the grave had to lay

In her little grave we laid her
No stranger can tell
How dear we loved Sarah
They know not how well

Sarah was the first child born to David and Frances Gibson Eller. The loss of their first baby must have been a great hardship. The memory of this child can live on with the discovery of artifacts handed down through the family.
