Biography

Sarah Ellicott, daughter of Andrew Ellicott (1754 - 1820) and Sarah Brown Ellicott (1756 - 1827), was born in 1788.[1] She was the 2nd wife of Honorable Henry Baldwin, marrying sometime after August 21, 1803 (date of his first wife, Marana Norton;s death);[2]

Sarah (Ellicott) Baldwin died probably July 7, 1866, in Batavia, New York, however a family memorial pillar inscribed with her name and death date appears in the Greendale Cemetery, located in Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania; plot: Section 5, lot 146: Find A Grave: Memorial #69909369

Note also a point of confusion: A different memorial stone for Sarah Baldwin (ostensibly also a daughter of this same birth family) with date of death Dec. 2, 1866 appears in Butler Cemetery, Stuyvesant, Columbia County, New York, USA: Find A Grave: Memorial #37644335. It is therefore not certain whether either cemetery actually contains her grave.
