Lars Ellingsen Leira was born on 27 Nov 1846 in Hjørundfjord, Norway, the son of Elling Olsen and Johanne Knudsdatter.[1]

In the 1865 census, Lars Ellingsen Leire (age 20) was a servant in the household of Ole Larssen at Leire in Hjørundfjord.[2]

Lars married Brit Sussane Oline Larsdatter Tvergrov (1856 - 1914) on 18 Apr 1886 in Hjørundfjord.[3] Their children were:

  1. Edvard Ragnvald (Larsen) Hustad (1887 - 1936)
  2. Lars Karolus (Larsen) Hustad (1889 - 1970)
  3. Johan Bernhard Andreas (Larsen) Hustad (1892 - 1937)
  4. Rasmus Elias Larsen (1894 - 1917)
  5. Ragnhild Andrine (Larsdatter) Hustad (1897 - 1927)

In 1891, Lars lived with his wife Brit and sons Edvard and Lars at Hustad in Hjørundfjord.[4]

In 1900, Lars was a farmer at Hustad in Hjørundfjord.[5] He lived with his wife Brit and five children.

In 1910, Lars was a farmer at Hustad and lived with his wife and five children.[6]

Lars died on 11 Jun 1920 in Hjørundfjord aged 73.[7]
