Admiral Hon. Sir George Elliot (1784-1863) was the second son of Gilbert Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 1st Earl of Minto and his wife Anna Maria Amyand.
He married Eliza Cecilia Ness, daughter of James Ness, 26 May 1810 at Government House, Calcutta, India.
He was General of the Mint (Scotland). He was a Lord of the Admiralty.
He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).
He died on 24 June 1863 at age 78 & is buried at Kensal Green Cemetery, London
