Joseph Grimball, died intestate before 23d. Oct. 1777, when John Grimball and "Mrs. Sison" administered. The records give very little information concerning him; according to a family account, he married Mary Elliott, and had several children; among them, a son Thomas, who married Ann Audubert, and moved to Mississippi about 1810

Joseph Grimball lived on his plantation situated on the Savannah River two miles below the Two Sisters Ferry in St. Peters Parish, Beaufort District. He married Mary Elliot and by her had three children. Thomas, who was born in 1771 and moved to Mississippi. Sarah who was born in 1773 and who married Nathaniel Zetter in 1791. Katherine was born in 1775 and married in 1794 Thomas Porter. Joseph's widow, Mary, married Martin Sissons.
