He wanted to put up a partition fence between the lots. John & Alphonso Elliot refused to divide the line where the fence ought to be built or to build a fence on their part of the line. Daniel requested the fence viewers to divide and assign the land as provided by law. The fence viewers marked where Alphonso, Daniel, and John were each to build and maintain a fence, giving them 10 days to do so.
(3b) 1828, 3 Mar: Town meeting of Corinna, ME chose Daniel Elliot Surveyor of Highways.

(3a) 1828, 20 Jun: Report of fence viewers states that John Elliott of Corinna reported to the fence viewers that he was desirous of improving lot no. 15 in the 3rd range which had hitherto been improved in common with lot 15 in the 2nd range occupied by Daniel Elliott. He wanted to build a partition fence between the lots, and Daniel refused to divide the line where the fence ought to be built or to build a sufficient fence on his part of the line. The fence viewers were requested to divide and assign the line as provided by law. The fence viewers marked where Daniel and John were each to build and maintain a fence, and gave them 6 days to do so.
